Am I alone? I like what I see, so I have amassed many CDs of downloaded Aircraft. Just today I put back the Howard DGA 15P, this time into FS9, downloaded eleven years ago. It works fine in FS9 and a nice little flyer: but no glass cockpit. Also put back on screen the DC3-Paradise Air Tours- another good flyer in FS9.
The point is. What do you do when there are over 100 aircraft in FS9?
Put them in hangers some may say. Then away go gauges panels etc which have to be brought back! I ask this question as it is slowing down the load times! Perhaps the experts have their own solutions to big collections? :exclamation
Any advice appreciated, ta

Hi FSFLYER. First of all I never saw the point in having a large number of aircraft installed to FS at any one time. The easiest method for managing addon aircraft is to create Hangar subfolders in the FS Aircraft directory. Drag the aircraft into their Hangars when not in use. (Don't do this with defaults or addon aircraft used as AI traffic). Unused gauges will do no harm left where they are but if you want to keep things tidy install them to the Panel folders of the aircraft they belong with instead of FS\Gauges. FS9 & FSX will recognise gauges in this location.

Out of interest - rarely, some CAB files and gauges don't appear to function properly if you put them in the plane's panel folder rather than the FS gauges folder. This happened to me when I was installing Matthias Lieberecht's Avro RJ version 4 panel (admittedly an incredibly complex panel, but one of the best freeware panels out there).
