I have the PMDG B737-600/700 series and if the 747 uses the same FMC that I have It will not hold all of the leggs at one time. I tried to input a shorter route from KFLL(Ft Lauderdale) to KJAX (Jacksonville)
and it would not even hold all of those legs which was about eight or so. Or at least I have not figured out a way to add the other legs yet. I noticed that while flying the route it would remove a waypoint after it passed it so I just added another waypoint from the list. I had to press the execute after adding each waypoint.
Now mind you I just got this package the other day and have not had a good chance to look into this problem. I also noticed that the FMC I use does not seem to have a import function at all. Or at least I did not see one at first glance. I hope to dig into this aircraft over the coming weekend.
I will keep up with this post to see what others have to say about this. 8-)

Actually what I did now was create the flight plan in Flight sim. Then I printed out the nav sheet that has all of the waypoints and then I went to simroutes.com and inputed the route into the generator and created the flight plan and saved it for use for the PMDG. Then I went into the FMC and imported the flight plan and all of the way points are entered in the legs page. I have 17 waypoints for a flight from KLAX to KDTW.

I went to the Flight Aware site and looked at some of the IFR routes that were used previously, specifically, the IFR routes from LAX to DTW and I copied those into the route generator and created the flight plan, saved, then imported that plan into the FMC and I was getting the "DISCO." eh oh well. The other way seems to work better for me. Now I just gotta get this reacurring stuttering problem away AGAIN!
