flightsim 2004 update problem

Postby hsvfan » Sun Feb 18, 2007 4:48 am

Hi all

I have uninstalled fs9 due to some problems and I had the MS2004 update patch installed which I uninstalled prior to uninstalling fs9
Now that I have reinstalled fs9 I have tried to install the patch but I get the a message saying that the patch is already installed but under the help section its still showing up as version 9.00 not sure what the problem is can anyone help

Cheers

The FS9 update creates a folder "BACKUP" of the old files it replaces. And trying to reload the update the BACKUP file is found. Sorry no other comment, I have the same problem.

Did you do a completely clean install, or did you move the contents of you old FS folder over to your new one? If so, I would try uninstalling, deleting the main FS folder, then reinstalling.

PS. The reason you had a problem with the patch is because you must run the installer with it in the main FS directory..  ;)

Thanks Guys
For some silly reason I placed a folder called backup back into the main fs9 directory once I removed that the update patch worked.
Still having some graphic problems, when sitting in the virtual cockpit if I pan around I get double images also happens when performing a left of right turn I have.
The problem happens even with all the settings at the default setting and even at the Minimal settings but occures when facing certian directions.
I am running a intel P4  dual core 3.4 with 2 512 ram and a asus gforce 7600gs 512 pci-e card with the latest nvidia drivers

Try rolling back to a version of driver you remember working correctly. Seems a videocard driver's issue to me.

If the problem is shared by other programs and the drivers are not the problem... then the problem becomes  either the OS or the hardware. :-/

Have you tried formatting and reinstalling windows? If you did and are still having problems I can only suggest you to find someone who lends you another videocard and to install it to check it out.
