Help Please.

Postby dramacydal » Thu Dec 28, 2006 2:21 pm

Hey, I need some help my friends.

I got FS2004, installed it looked forward to play it and all.

then, I clicked the desktop icon, it gives me that splashscreen thingy, but just wont do anything.

I left it over night and it still didn't do anything.

I don't think it's my PC cos I have a really good one, 1gb ram, x1300, dual core etc, etc.

please help me.

Vinny.

Should work just fine. I'm running a PIII 1GHz with 512mb RAM!
Sounds like the install hasn't gone right or you've got a lot of background programs running causing problems of some kind.

The first thing I'd check is your DirectX, make sure you have a new enough version?

Also make sure you're installing in the default folders, it shouldn't make a difference but can sometimes cause some progs to crash if files are not where the prog expects.

Are you using a widescreen monitor with a weird resolution?

Try going to
START/MICROSOFT GAMES/FLIGHT SIMULATOR9/SAFE MODE
and see if it loads.

I tryed reinstalling it like 20 times, the weird thing is that, before I got a new PC couple months ago, I ran it on a pc that is crappier than a shoe.

I get a new PC, thinking, wow, now it is gonna work smoothly, install it, no go.

Any other suggestions guys ???

Hi Vinny.
How do your installs go, no problems?
Do you copy anything from a backup?
Do you delete the remaining folder in msgames before reinstall. (and check the hidden folder in documents)?
Have you got a reg cleaner, like reg mechanic?
How do your cd's look, are they clean?

If you aren't using a legal, original, CD version we can't help you & you most likely WILL encounter problems.
My advice would be to completely remove both versions - if you have 2 versions. Do not touch an illegal one - that's simply waving a red flag asking for trouble.

As you have installed an illegal version all kinds of problems may already have occurred. You may wish to run a good cleaner on your system before the legal install.

Reboot & re-install the correct version from scratch - keep it as simple as possible. Any warnings during install?

don't trust downloads from anywhere but simv and ... (won't push my luck) other places that are trusted. the n--d patch can't be trusted.

And Vinny.
Forgot one thing. Turn off your antivirus program when you install.
