Runaway trim

Has anyone had problems with runaway trim? It happens occasionally on different aircraft and on different joysticks. Right now I'm using Logitech wireless freedom 2.4. It gets right harrowing when I just want to trim up/down a click and it goes full up or down! There seems to be no rhyme or reason why it happens.

If this problem happens to you with different joysticks, try and swap the keyboard with another PC and see if it continues doing the same problem.

which airplane are you using? some addons have autotrim gauges that change the trim according to elevator position. the other thing is that sometimes the autopilot accidently gets left on and it take the trim to new heights while on the ground.

I'm flying a standard FS 2004 Cessna 172 and a Beech Baron. It also did it when I was trying to fly the Bombardier. I'm not in auto-pilot. I have never changed the trim on the ground since the system loads in the "trim for t/o" position. I only change trim when I'm airborne and attempting to stabilize flt parameters.

I've had similar problems with the default Lear45 as well (Bombardier), loves sticking it's nose straight up.

Falcon Fixer, might be that you've got the A/P master-switch in the 'On' position. That can apply full up trim EVEN THOUGH you don't have any 'Holds' set. Full discussion of the problem on here:-

Negative on the A/P. I can take off and climb to say 5000, keep it at full throttle, and when I try to trim the aircraft out to level flight, and when I try to trim the nose down sometimes I get runaway nose down trim. When I try to stop it by trimming up, the acft will run away in nose up trim. Hitting the trim buttons finally stops it. Then, I use the mouse & cursor to rotate the trim wheel on the panel (without problems). I want to blame the joystick but it is an intermittent problem.

I "fixed" it. I reassigned the buttons. Works like a charm.
