FS 2004 compatiable with Vista?

Postby chris1060 » Wed Jan 10, 2007 6:11 pm

Does anyone know if FS 2004 will be compatiable with Vista. Because I just got off the phone with MS and they said it wouldn't be. Is this true or not. Thank you.

It most likely isn't going to be. The reason is that Vista wont support DX9 and DX10 has almost no backwards compatibility to previous versions.

Well, if the the so much blessed DX10 and its prophet Vista are not compatible with the past, I foresee a great success...

I figured I'd try and e-mail MS about this compatiabilty issue and they replied that FS 2004 will be compatiable with Vista along with all other games and programs that run on XP to be backwards compatiable. So hopefully this is true and just have to wait and see.

It will run fine. DX10 is backwards compatible and will include coding for DX9L

Hi

Other people have had problems with many games. It seems MS is aware and has been working on the problem.

It doesn't mention FS9, but I have a feeling FS9 as well as other older games will run fine in the release version of Vista.

a large chunk of pc sales are for videogame pc's. microsoft would be extemely stupid to have no backwards compatability. and xp can run games from 98 and 95 so i see no reason why they would make it so you cant run xp games on vistas
big or small i like them all ...? that dosent sound right

I agree with n_richardson, i would be a mistake of massive proportions to not have backwards compatibility. They almost DEFIANTLY will in the final release versions.
