Problem with Recorder and ATC

Postby FridayChild » Sun Jan 14, 2007 8:54 am

I usually replay my landings to see if I did well, and I use Recorder for that rather than the default FS2004 replay function.
Sometimes (not always, for some reason), even though I pause the simulator before viewing the replay, the ATC thinks I've taken off again without clearance and starts warning me about that, until it gives up and says "ATC services terminated". Is there a way to avoid this?

Not unless you manually change the freq.

This is because recorder doesn't actually record the flight like a video, but rather records 'instructions' for the aircraft, to replay at a later date. So when you play back the recorder, you are actually taking off again...  :D

Same thing happens to me.  I wait until I exit the runway and then acknowlege the ground handoff.  Then no one bugs me during replay.

Actually I'd acknowledged the ground handoff, but I hadn't contacted ground yet when I started the replay. Maybe if I'd contacted ground to request taxi to parking, AND acknowledged the clearance, I would not have been bothered. I will try this next time, or change frequency like Alex suggested.
