Plane does not appear!

Well, now I'm really screwd up!!

I installed http://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=Batman+Bell+47&CatID=root&Go=Search this plane correctly as I do it with all other planes.

I checked and re-checked it for several times and I'm sure, I installed it correctly. But FS9 doesn't show it in its library. >:( >:( >:(

Isn't there a problem which checks the files? (Freeware please!).

Any help is wanted.  ;)

Thanks. :)

Annotation: Yes, I installed the original plane, not only the texture in the link above... ;)

So what exactly isn't showing up ........ the whole aircraft or just the new texture?

I suspect you missed something. If you installed the original aircraft correctly as you say there's no reason it won't show up.

There are various FS install manager utilities which might help you. I've never used them myself so cannot recommend any.

The whole aircraft is not showing up. I checked everything: Model, Panel, Sound, *.air and aircraft.cfg is there.

The link you posted is a repaint & not the complete aircraft. Where did you get the original & what is the file name?

PS. Please note that this is the Simviation forum. I'm pleased to help with files posted here but that link is to another site.

I posted it here because I request help of you, I think it doesn't matter where the file comes because my request is not about the file, it's about the way how to install it (and what you think). I saw a lot of threads in this forum where are links to another site.

And I already said that I installed the original AND the textures (I told you in my first post above, remember?).

The original and the textures are from avsim.com.

The reason I need to know the file name & where you got it is so I can download it & check it out for you. The file name from your link (BELL47SK.ZIP) is not listed in the Avsim library. If you don't wish to give me this information that's fine by me.

Here is one:

http://library.avsim.net/search.php?Sea ... &Go=Search

I think if this would be the wrong file, it at least has to show the original file. But it doesn't even do that.

I have had this happen too and I found a solution.
Open Windows Explorer and go the Aircraft Folder
Find the folder for the aircraft you installed but would not show up in the FS9 Select Aircraft list.
Open the folder and check for any sub folders that were in the zip.
Open the sub folders and copy folders and files to the main folder of the aircraft you aare trying to install.
I always copy any extra files , ReadMe, etc. that came with the zip into the the main folder.

You can use the Curtiss Jenny folder as a guide of what your main folder should look like when you are finished.

This works for me I hope it helps you :)

I just checked this out for you. It's configured as an auto-install & not only is it incorrectly configured, it's also missing the Model files/folders. Without these it cannot possibly work. I copied this from the Readme.
This package requires the following files listed below:

Bell 47G2 Skid (bell47gmaxskid.zip) for model and model config
Bell 47G2 Float (bell47gmaxfloat.zip) for model and model config
Hiller OH23G (OH-23G.zip available at www.sim-outhouse.com) for gauges
Apollo MX20 GPS gauge available with the MD500E package I released (http://69.44.154.34/ifolio_files/file_g ... update.zip)

Dale made an excellent suggestion & this is a common problem when extracting zipfiles direct to the sim or using incorrectly configured auto-installers just like this one. Even if you have the original Bell 47G2 correctly installed this one won't show up. Take my tip & ignore all instructions to extract files direct to the sim. Extract zipfiles to a Temp folder first & install the files manually. The same applies to auto-installers. Redirect the "install path" to your Temp folder. There's no point in trying to install repaints if the original doesn't display.
