Aircraft Parking

Postby arty » Thu Dec 28, 2006 7:37 pm

When I select an aircraft in FS2004 to fly it is already lined up on the runway [default] .How can I start with the aircraft in the parking area ready for push-back,and contact ATC from there.

hi.  when you select your airport of choice, there is a drop down menu in the bottom left of the window with 'active runway' written in it. drop the menu down and select your gate/parking position.  hope this helps   8-)

When you at the opening menu, after you select you aircraft,  you can do one of two things.

Open the "Select " menu item and select airport you wish to fly fro. While there, open
the "Runway/Starting Position" drop-down menu item.

There you can select from starting runways or any of the DEFINED parking locations. Some airports may
NOT have any parking defined and you would, in those cases, only be able to start on the runway.
Parking can be added to airports that don't have any using AFCAD.

The second method is similar to the first but in this case you will be creating a flight plan from your
starting airport to your destination airport.
Select the "Flight Planner" menu item on the main menu, then inder "Choose departure location"
press "Select".  You then selct the airport and start location as I indicated in the first option.

For your default flight, just follow eith option and SAVE that flight again as the default. Then when you
come into FS9 and hit "Fly" you will be taken to that starting airport and the parking spot you
selected.
