In order to get rid of stuttering at major airports (FRs down to 8 from locked 22) I turned off AA in FS & set AA to 4 & AF to 16 with vertical refresh ON in my Gefore 6800 settings. It has improve things but the aircraft selection screen has gone black. How do I get it back, please? I have NOT fiddled with anything else. Promise!!

Try it in windows mode, it is a invida driver glitch.

You have to either memorize what your aircraft look like, or set your AA down one setting on your video card.

It's when FS9 runs in a window instead of full screen...To try it out, once the sim loads, hit Alt+Enter...Don't freak out...To get the full screen back, just hit Alt+Enter again

That would be windowed mode. ;)
In my case (NVida 6600GT chipset) this side effect occurs when I set anti aliasing to the maximum value (8x); any other AA value (and any AF value) does not give this problem.

I've set the card AA to 4. I find that if I change the resolution to 1600x1024 (from the 1680x1050 I had it at) then the aircraft appear in the window! AF is set at 8 now. Windowed mode didn't change anything.
