Runway Selection Problem

Postby Dave_Prentice » Fri Dec 08, 2006 5:27 pm

Folks,

I have noticed that one particular Flight Sim tower always directs me to the WRONG runway for a specific airport.

Experience tells me that flights land on runway 24, yet the tower always directs me to land to runway 6.

Any advice on how to get the tower in question to default to runway 240 ?

Regards,

Dave

Check what direction the wind is coming from & if needs be change it so that you will be landing into the wind on R24. ATC should then direct you to R24.

Remember, planes don't only ever land on one specific runway, it's always preferable to land into wind.

Cheers,

At our local airport in real life very rarely do they use rwy 3/21 they always use the longer 1/19. Yet FS invariably would direct me to 3 or 21. My solution was to open the airport in AFCAD and close 3/21 to operations in the properties menu.
