installing Aircraft copying files

I am new to Fs2004 and was trying to download a few new aircraft,one needed the dc3_cab file. I am a litttle confused on this looked in the DC 3 file but could not find the DC3 cab file. Any help would be greatly Appr.

Douglas_DC3.cab is in the Douglas_DC3\panel folder. It would save a lot of messing around if you paste a copy of Douglas_DC3.cab into FS9\Gauges.

Thanks for the quick reply Hagar, is the cab file the winrar archive located in the panel folder? SO just cpy and paste the whole winrar file is that correct?

Douglas_DC3.cab is a gauge. It might have the RAR file icon on your system but is an XML gauge in CAB format.

All you need to do is identify Douglas_DC3.cab & paste a copy of it into FS9\Gauges. Here's how it looks on my system. Note the full file extensions display & that CAB files are associated with WinZip on my system.

Hagar thanks for all your help it is greatly appr. I bookmarked your site and i am sure will be using it daily.It is nice to know that there are people willing to take the time and effort to help out the newb's getting started in the sim. Thanks again.
