I read somewhere that FSX shows correct sun, star and shadow positions. I thought FS9 did as well or am I wrong

The sun is in the sky, the stars come out at night, and the shadows are on the ground. Those are right, aren't they?

There is a freeware addon file called something like realstars that makes the stars better in fs9. Check it out.
best,

If you have downloaded the FSX demo, use that star file..I did and it works..All of the stars are supposedly correct. Just make sure to back up your FS2004 stars.dat file.

Thanks guys. I'll check out that addon. But was I wrong in thinking FS9 positions sun and shadows correctly?

Not,you arent...
FS9's sun and stars positions are correct.
Constellations positions and shapes are correct as well.
I use star.dat file(dont remember where I downloaded it though) wich makes more stars visible and draw constellations shape lines.
Although now I want to turn constellatons lines of and I cant for some reason-I change 1 to 0 in "Constellations=" line of stars.dat file but it doesnt work.

"Realstars" is good. It displays more than 9,000 stars greater than magnitude 7 so one can actually do stellar navigation!!
As for the sun and moon they seem to be in the right positions and the moon "seems" to be at the right phase. However FS9 did not show the recent total eclipse. Perhaps someone could wind back thier dates in FSX and see if it does!!
