BAC-1-11 DMFlightsim  AP problem.

Does anybody fly this wonderful bird?
Love this plane, but recently have serious trouble with handling her autopilot.
Just downloaded new panel update for BAC-1-11 500ED-it has been changed a lot and now has completely different autopilot, wich I have a problem with.
I created this thread because existing manual and tutorial flight refers to old version of AP.

The problem is that ap works somehow in a strange way.
First of all how exactly do switches "acquire/lock height"
and "engage height" work?.I made a 1.5 hour test flight
and it's still unclear to me.
Somehow I could get it hold selected altitude but I couldnt changed it-I mean if I want to decsend I set another altitude and AP completely ignores it.

Vertical speed UP/DOWN wheel never worked for me.
It just do nothing.

Anybody knows what Im missing? ???

f10 brings up the kneeboard, forelast page is the manual for the panel.

And that panel is for one specific airline only

Ivan, thank you for trying to help, but if you read my post carefully:

And new AP is completely different, although is more advanced(having altitude hold and autothrottle).

Yes,I know, this panel is BEA specific.

I had the same sort of difficulty "adjusting" to the autopilot
in the new 510ED panel. I did manage to get it to do pretty
much what I wanted to but I'm afraid I didn't note what the
exact procedures I uesed were, therefore I can't be of alot
of help here.

I did note that you vcan't engage the speed hold function and
the ALT hold at the same time. I think the acquire setting may
work with the pitch wheel for climb/descent while the hold
function will hold the current ALT.

Best thing for you to do mught be to go on over to the
Classic British Flightsim forum and dig around/ask there.

I do love the aircraft that come from those guys over there!
I've imported the 1-11 200, 1-11 510ED and  the HS748
into FSX and am flying them there, as well as in FS9.

Yea...You are right This new AP is similar to Trident's one.
Thank you Ivan.

Now at least I know what each switch do.

Thanx for the link!

Yes,now it works!
Just made another test flight, operating AP according to Trident's panel manual.

The main mistake was setting autothrottle to IAS mode(as we get used to in modern planes)-then aircraft attempts to maintain speed by changing pitch-thats why I couldnt control vertical speed.

Thank you Ivan for pointing to right direction!

:o
H-h-h...
Crashed,performing FSpassengers flight on BAC...
Seconds before touchdown I turned off AP and autothrottle,but...autothrottle continued working and maintaining speed...
Thrust reverse didnt work for this reason, brakes and spoilers alone couldnt stop this bird, maintaining landing speed, while I tried to do something, this lovely bird ate all the runway, wich so short in Thunder Bay...
