Hello,

can anybody tell me how to let a jet make a sonic boom when it goes over mach 1?
I had a Saab Viggen that did this, but an update removed it (and I had no backup of course).
I've a FS2002 boom, but did not get it to work.
Any suggestions?

Well I can find 2 obvious candidates for the sonic boom;

Interesting idea, but remember that a pilot passing Mach 1 doesn't hear the boom, nor would a chase plane flying alongside  (at the same speed) hear anything. It would only be realistic in Tower view.

Thank you for the tips, but I already tried those, and didn't get them to work. Obviously I am doing something wrong, but what?
As for not being able to hear the boom, that does sound logical. It was fun however flying between mountains and hearing the boom. Oh well, this will teach me  to always make back-ups.

Hadn't thunk of that... you might hear it echo off a mountain.

But... if you're traveling faster than sound... maybe not.
Hmmmm...no, I don't think you'd hear it.
If the mountain is alongside you, you'd be ahead of the wave, especially as it went out to the mountain and back.
If the mountain is in front of you, you'd hit the mountain before the sound of your boom reached the mountain.

"Pull up!! Pull up!!!"

;D

Perfect for buzzing the tower in Tower view, though. :D
