Force Feedback

Well my CH Yoke decided that now was good as time as any to die, so Im forced to go back to using my sidewinder.  When not in the sim, I like the force feedback: strong resistance to motion like it should be, self centering and all.  However in the sim this is not the case, it gets all loosy goosy and doesnt self center, which makes flying difficult.  Is there any way to make it act like its outside the sim inside the sim?

Yes.  What I want is for the stick to be firm like it is outside the sim.  When the sim isnt running, the stick is self centering with a firm resistance, but in the sim it gets loose and only reacts when its told to.  I want to somehow get it where its always firm and self centering.

Probably not possible, so I might try and convince my parents to get me a cheap new stick.

What exactly happened to your CH yoke? Mine is starting to act weird, like when I turn to the right with it, the springs inside make noises they never had before, and you can feel it trying to not let you turn it. I don't know what happened since I don't use it that often. I'm not wasting money to get a new one, and I'm NOT using a joystick to fly! So I dunno what is going to happen..

Well the springs made noises before, but that wasnt a problem.  Lately it just doesnt work right, it doesnt seem to transmit well to the sim.  Like Ill pull all the way back but in the sim it either wont react or only pull back a little bit and then jump back, or it wont pull back all the way in the sim until I push the yoke forward and then pull it back.  I think that either something inside the yoke like sensors or something broke or the cable is messed up.  

I dont mind using a joystick, I just dont like the unrealistic loose feeling of my sidewinder.

With my Logitec Wingman I fly with force feedback off and then it self centres. And if it doesn't then i turn the power to it off then on again and then that fixes it.

Probably different with a sidewinder though.
