Can someone point me or explain the Use of the ECAM controls I knew but forgot.

The only thing that pops up in my head is the ECAM found in the Airbus. (ECAM = Electronic centralized aircrft monitoring).

Do you mean this system, or are you talking about a totally different enchilada?

Can someone point me or explain the Use of the ECAM controls I knew but forgot.

ECAM via the ECAM control panel lets you view the status of the different systems on the aircraft.

You have the following pages:

ENG - Displays all engine parameters, basically what used to be dial instruments.

BLEED - Shows the position of the valves (open or closed), temp and pressure in the bleed system to the beginning of the PNU system.

PRESS - Shows the position of the out flow valve and the selected altitude.

ELEC - Shows the voltage of all buses and batteries, inverters and rectifiers including frequencies also RAT power if deployed. It also shows if bus transfer is selected. Also show if the Engine driven generators are supplying the aircraft or the APU or ground power.

HYD - Will show pressure of all three systems, fluid overheat, if the fire valve is open or closed, fluid quantity. I f the RAT is deployed. If the electric pump is in overheat (both) and how the PTU is supplying and being supplied.

FUEL - Will show fuel available, fuel used. Quantity in each tank. Position of fire shut off valves, position of cross feed valve, Fuel pumps on or off, position of APU shut off valve and fuel temperature.

APU - Will show, APU N%, EGT. Generator on or off line and  power produced volts and HZ also APU load. BLEED PSI available and if valve is open. Lowe oil level and APU intake door position.

COND - Position of hot air valve, position of isolation valve. Zone temperature FW, AFT and cockpit. Position of trim air valve. Position of zone regulating valves.

DOOR - Show if door is open or locked, or flight armed depending on colour indicated.

WHEEL - Shows wheels up/down, position of gear doors. Brake temp and pressure. Will show steering and anti skid failure. Also show auto brake selection - Lo, Med and Max.

FCLT - Show position of: Speed brakes, ailerons left and right, elevator left and right and rudder. Show which hyd system is supplying the individual flight controls. Shows that the ELAC (elevator aileron computer((two off)) are functioning) Shows that the SEC (Slat elevator computer ((three off)) are functioning). Pitch trim indication.

ALL - Hold down all and each of the above pages will be shown for about 2 seconds.

CLR- Clear last fault from view.

RCL - Show last fault.

STS. Shows status page.

Moach has incorrectly labled that panel. Boeing does not use ECAM. That is the EFIS panel and it is a somewhat simplified version. if you visit here;

,you can see what it really looks like. Sorry, but my thing in  FS world is radial twins, so I cannot tell you how this particular panel works. If you want to know what the real panel in an NG does, then that I can tell you.
