Cessna 182 IFR

I just started flying this aircraft in Flight Sim 2004 and I find the trim adjusts the aircraft to a slight nose high position and the airspeed is around 100K or less.

I have tried to reset a couple of times and the problem still exists.

When I switch aircraft back to the C172 while in flight the problem goes away.

Is there a problem with Microsofts C182 in FS 2004?

Is there a fix for this problem?

Any help most appreciated.

Not sure offhand, but check the "Fuel and Payload" page ; they might have it loaded wrong (too much weight in back), or balanced wrong (acceptable loads at each station, but not workable in the sim).

It is not unusuall for a plane to have a slight nose up attitude while crusing so unless it is to high I would not worry about it, you can allways add or remove weight to any plane for balanceing. Also try reducing the rpm a little that should help some. If the plane had a adjustable pitch prop you could turn down the pitch.
You have to rember that it will depend on the planes center of gravity and with the cessna it is usually somewhere along the middle of the wing and with the cargo area past the wing any weight here will mean a tail down or nose up attitude. About the only way you have to offset this is with the engine controls and trim tabs on the elevator.
In the real world you would try to but bags as far up in the passenger area as you can so you wont have to relay on trim tabs to offset the weight.

I've played with and saved the loadings so much, I can't check what the default was.

I do remember though, that the C182 is loaded all the way (4 pax, full fuel and bags) by default. When you compare it to a default C172 load , (2 pax) in flight, it's kinda mis-leading, in.

I've noticed that if you delete the 170 lbs. from the right seat in the default 172, it rolls to the left in flight like an old 150. Yeah, right.

Just got to experiment with these things...

Okay I went to the "Fuel and Payload" page like Sean suggested and as there was only one person in the default aircraft (pilot...left front seat) I deleted the other three persons and baggage.

The aircraft operates the way it is supposed to now.
