Does anyone know why, all of a sudden, the little pictures of the aircraft in the selection box is now black? You know, how different planes are displayed when you are going through the list of planes you might want to fly? The only thing I can think of that I may have done was to update an nVidia video card driver for my 6800GT.
It's probably something stupid I've done, but it sure wouldn't be the first time.
Thanx, joe in Athens, OH

Hi Joe. I think that is the answer. It seems to be a common problem. I believe you can still see the model in Windows mode if you wish. (Alt + Enter)

Thanks for your kind help, Hagar. They say if we don't hang together we'll most assuredly hang separately. I'm a big believer in that.

The latest nVidia drivers with AA set to 8xS will not display the aircraft window...revert to the previous driver or set AA on the video card to 4x

It's a known lesser problem of the Nvidia drivers with FS9. If AA is put at over 4X, in full screen the selection preview box shows black.
Solution: either bring back the AA to 4X or fly in window mode.

It happens. And its never a problem. Ive had the window black, the aircraft show up as the wrong aircraft, etc, but its always fine when I load the sim. Just ignore it.
If you want to look at aircraft before flying them as in look at a plane you just downloaded, go get the free trial of FSRepaint from Abacus. It lets you look at a plane without loading the sim (meant for repainting)

I had this same problem and posted it a month or so ago, just switch the AA to 4x and the problem goes away
