Sound

Postby Jakemaster » Wed Oct 04, 2006 9:08 pm

For some reason sound seems to slow down my sim lately.  ITs not all the time, but sometimes it does, and I dont understand why because I have a sound card (sound blaster 24-bit sound card).  It might have something to do with tongass, I havent tried it anywhere else to see.  Yes it happens with any plane, and the typical slow down when there is one is 5 FPS.  When I do experience the slowdown, if I press Q i hit my locked 20FPS.  Any ideas?

Try redusing the sound quality, that might help/

Well see that does, but the whole reason why I got the sound card was for better sound.  I mean, whats the point in having a 24 bit sound card with powerful speakers if I use medium quality sound?

"whats the point in having a 24 bit sound card with powerful speakers if I use medium quality sound?"

Maybe that's the optimum sound setting for a given setup?

My fs9.CFG file shows SOUND=0 (if that's any help)

"Sound" never was one of FS9's strong points: I've always had inordinant amounts of crackles-and-pops while cycling thru FS9's Views.

In any case, reportedly, FSX will be available at FutureShop tomorrow   ;)
