Wild guess only, computers aren't my thing. But possibly Seattle isn't a good choice as your default airport.

There are some airports where FS9 makes a special effort on scenery.  Seattle is one of them; others are Heathrow, CDG, SFO, Reagan National in DC, and so on.

When you fly into them the scenery is marvellous - but you have to put up with the fact that, particularly in cloudy weather, however fast your 'puter is, the frame-rate can occasionally drop to 'crisis' levels!

I reckon that if you set some more ordinary place as your default airport, the problem will go away.

Hope that helps. :)

FS9  has what M$ calls high detail airports which means they went to a lot of trouble in designing and displaying them. Basicly it is all of the major hubs that the airlines use such as atlanta seattle and others. So any time you go to these airports it is going to take a hard hit on frame rates you add bad weather and a detailed aircraft and it can really hit you hard. It is at these air ports where you really find out how good of a system you have. if you can have descent frame rates here than you have nothing to worry about unless you add scenery like mega scenery which can effect a big area or just a city like Mega city New York. These software proudcts can really put your system through there paces 8)

How high did you set your AI traffic? Remember that your AI traffic is following a flightplan. One moment it is very quiet at an airport and your framerate goes up, other times your framerate drops like a brick when there is a lot of traffic.

Just an idea.

Crash ;)

Steve,

Forst off.... welcome to SimV.

This once again sounds like it might be the known version 9.0 autogen memory leak issue, I think.
