My Esc key on my keyboard

My Esc key on my keyboard works fine in other applications,
in FS2004 when I use the Esc key it does nothing.
I have to hit ctrl alt delete to end FS.  It has worked before up to today.
Anyone know whats going on here.  I've made no changes.

the escape key is normally assigned to the "end flight" command.
Check your keys assignments in fs9.

ctrl+c will bring you directly to the "quit FS" box

ctrl + pause/break shuts FS9 down immediately.
