Every once in a while you come across a little gem in FS. I randomly picked 2 airports in alaska to fly between in the Beech Baron. I picked Bald Mountain as my destination airport. I have the mesh for alaska by Raimondo Taburet (FSfreeware, and amazing) installed so Im not sure what the default is like, but landing here is quite interesting. The airport has a 1000 ft runway and is perched on the top of a mountain at 3600 ft. It took me three attempts to put her down smoothly on Runway 24, as the Baron was a bit sluggish at that altitude, and the 12knt crosswind at 191 didnt help. Dont come in short or its the side of the mountain, dont go long or its a long way down. Thought others might be interested in giving it a shot. Todd

Yeah, the trees at some of these airports are a little nuts, almost need a STOL to get in or out. Luckily Bald Mountain didnt have them or my tomb stone would have been up there in that desolate area! If you remember any really difficult approaches in Italy, please post them so I can give them a shot. Todd

If you want some difficult approaches to try out cavity, have a look
here. There should be enough there to keep you busy for a while

Cheers,
TSC.

I flew alot of the DDA flights and never under stood what the requirements were that made the approaches difficult some of the approaches I thought were a piece of cake but some of them are indeed tricky. What I started doing is to jump from airport to airport within a state both major and minor airports and you will find the harder approaches and make your own list.
