What view do you use the MOST.

Personally I only use 2D. I never "go outside" at anytime of the essential times of flying.

I can't stand the 3D views and if I want to go viewing when on autopilot I go into spot view. I record all my landings - so I use the spot view then.  8)

Where's tower view? :P

I hardly ever use the panel, only the pop-up when in VC. If I'm in one of the tours, or flying seriously, I'll use the VC. If I want to fly a display, I'll use tower view. If I'm taking screenshots/admiring scenery, I'll use spot view!

Although i voted for VC, this refers to when flying airplanes. when flying a helicopter on the other hand it is useful to use spot plane when landing to check that the aircraft is level and not desnding too fast.

I always fly 2d for essential flying, though with a/c like the Curtiss Jenny i may land in spot plane.  Only use the vc for looking around during the cruise

I use the 2D panel view 95% of the time.  The rest is Spot View since I enjoy actually looking at the aircraft and surrounding scenery.  I sometimes will use Spot when landing.

75-80% of my time is spent in spot view. I will often bring up the panel (or VC, if available), but honestly, I'd get bored if I just spent the entire flight staring at the panel...

But that's just me.

VC whenever practical; although some planes have suitable 2D panels and bad VC cockpits. I often have to tweak and fuss with the POV before i have it right, but it's worth it. the end result is usually a fairly complete view of the panel without much eyepoint movement, combined with the ability to just casually look around in cruise. And I generally prefer the forward view offered by the VC: the 2D panels are mostly just IFR panels, and most of my flying is VFR. When flying solely by instruments, I often go to 2D view, as it's easier to clearly see small changes in a number of instruments at once.
I also often use the 2D views for aerobatics, because the snap views work well for quick glances at the wingtips.
I can't resist looking "from outside" from time to time, although if I'm working on navigation, I try to resist that, as it's often easier to determine one's location from Spot biew than from "inside".
I almost always replay my landings so I can scrutinize them from every angle in Spot view.

I fly the POSKY 752 (exclusively when I'm flying commercial), so I use the VC for the majority of the flying and I quickly shift+s into the 2d panel when I need to manipulate something or read a gauge.

Like beefhole mentioned to read a guage, on approach and such I just cant tell what my airspeed is or read anything for that matter. so i usually use 2d for approach, landing etc.. and flip when flying through all the views

well i have dual monitors now, so i use 2d and spot.but when i was on single monitor, it was spot, about 90% of the time.

i do all landings VFR and using spot view, i like (and need) all views capabale, and yet i still make too many bad landings...

i also do it for screenshot purposes.

Interesting comments.
I didn't include tower view tweek - only Radio Controlled planes work with that. :P

I fly quite a lot in VC (especially when mountain flying or cruising low and slow) and when I'm on AP in a civvie, I generally fly in spot view. ;)

...ALWAYS...the 2D cockpit... 8)...!

Because that is where all my flying information is presented in front of me, ready to observe and use...!
I need to constantly observe all my analogue dials and make adjustments in flight to ensure that everything is going well, and my Bendix-King radio stack for regular Nav/Com/etc, tuning, exactly the same as it appears in the real aircraft... ;)...!

Cheers all...!

Paul...8)...!

...I spend most of my take-off, flying, and landing time making slight adjustments to the instruments to maintain correct conditions for economical and safe flight....and those are always available on the 2D panel... ;)...!
