A problem with some textures

It's a while now that I have a problem, it's a minor one, nothing that hampers the use of the simulator, but sometimes it's annoying.

Every time in a airport, a taxiway, an apron or even the runway is made of dirt (like in the small airports) said element appears to be a glaring textureless white.

I've given an eye in the Texture folder under FS and found two files (dirt.r8 and another, a .BMP file). Compared to the files inside the Texture folder inside the .CAB file on the installation CD, and they are the same. Even overwriting them the problem remains. And there are no other files I can find that by name alone remind the dirt.

Here ends my knowledge... I thought it could be the absence of texture files... it seems I was wrong.

This problem, though not terminal, is quite annoying. It kills all the realism when trying to land on a small strip of dirt, said strip of dirt shines whiter than snow (on a tropical island, even)...

Can any of you please help me? Tell me what could be the reason? What can I do to repair it?

Just a guess.

Continue your compare in the ...[FS2004]\Texture\.. folder for files; 'runway*.bmp' (and r8 ) and 'taxi_*.bmp'.

Thank you dave, all resolved. :D

Exploded the texture folder from the installation cab on the desktop and from there replaced the files you wrote about, and now all works perfectly.

Again, thank you. :)
