Weird canopy problems...

I recently downloaded the Long Island Classics Christen Eagle II package, and while it's an excellent package, I have run across a problem.

All pics that I've seen show the canopy glass as transparent with a slight shine. However, when I fly it, the canopy glass is opaque, and chrome, as if it were made of solid metal. Normally, this wouldn't bother me, but it also happens in VC mode. Needless to say, flying via VC is a mite hard with a giant, opaque dome blocking your view. Is this a problem with my system, or can I fix this?

(if pics or other info are needed, let me know)

I am not familar with the aircraft you mention but it could be a video card problem or a texture is not defined quite right in the model.
I would suggest you try to contact the author and see if he/she  has any ideas.
Also make sure your video card drivers are up to date. 8)

I just tried the one posted here without any problems with the canopy. http://www.simviation.com/fs2004props77.htm
I suspect it's either a video card or display setting on your system. It's an excellent model. IMHO

It didn't seem to make any difference for me but there's some special features included on the panel. Read the instructions carefully.

I guess it's to do with my card, as it's fairly old. I suppose I also should've mentioned that this happened to me before with one other plane (the Lancair Legacy), but the author later supplied a fix.

I did manage to find a "jettison canopy" lever in the VC, which allows me to properly fly it in VC mode. Crude yes, but it works. :P

Try this out. Settings, Hardward, Turn off (uncheck) Transform and lighting

It made a crome looking canopy go back to the normal looking one.

Hi
The best way to fix this is to have a look in the texture folders and delete Eagle_II_Canopy_T.bmp and glass_t.bmp
that will remove the textures mapped to the canopy glass
