So FS2004 has been completely paralyzed for me since I blew out my ati9800 xp.  i havent flown in a good 5 months, if not a little longer.

anyway, i got it working tonight.  it looks like garbage, but it works.  I had to shift to 800x600 resolution (something my "eye candy" appreciative mind never thought of doing) so there REALLY must be something wrong with my machine since I was easily able to support a MUCH better resolution before I had all these troubles.

Well anyway, thanks to everyone that's offered some help over the past few months.  I'd post screenshots again, but I think I just might be too embarrassed to do so

Thanks man. It wasn't perfect, as the game started to stutter like HELL on landing.  Caused me to make a "Poor" landing in FS Passengers, messed up some tires (-666fit/min landing)  >:(

Perhaps your gfx cards overheating. my 9800pro had a tendency to do that, then I took it back and got a 6600gt instead and happy flying every since  :D
