3wire v2 won't work :/

Hi all,

I just installed the newest version of of 3wire, and the latest version of FSUIPC, both on simviation downloads.

I get a problem with 3wire. The catapult and the arrestor cables do notwork properly. The sofware is correctly installed, and I didn't touch the configuration file.

When applying the instructions in the readme, I get the correct messages on the screen. Basically for a takeoff, you just need to set your parking brakes, and press SHIFT+F9. I do that and I get the message "CATAPULT ARMED"...and then nothing else.  ??? So I just go ahead, apply max throttle and press the comma key to release the brakes... and there the aircraft moves just like normal, no catapult effect, so I end in the water  :-X

The same with the arrestor cables. I tried with a lot of planes, I can catch the cables on 100% of the times, but the cables effect is not triggered so the aircarft is not slowed down and ends in the water  :P

By the way, when I leave the deck on takeoff, just before heading for the water, I get an error popup from 3wire telling that the application could not find the closest zone, and that the string was not in correct format (something like that).

Any idea ?  ???

It's not the product named "Arrestor Cables"
I am talking about "3wire", a whole independent FS2004 freeware available on Simviation.

By the way, I just realized that the catapult was not working because the default configuration values were not set correctly. Now the catapult works as it should :)

But the arrestor cables are still not taken into consideration...it's just like if the program coud not find its own Zonedefs.xml ???

If you read the instructions you need to download Microsoft .Net; its free off the Microsoft website
Its needed for the A++, Visual Basic ect. ect. programming

Cheers

.NET framework 1.1 is already installed on my computer.
Moreover, I believe the software wouldn't even install without the framework.

(For example, "World Of AI" installer requires .NET framework 2.0, which is not installed on my computer at the moment. If I try to install WOAI,  I get an error popup telling that the framework is needed and  then the installation aborts...)

????....it seems to work just fine on my system, from
file rcbco-20.zip. Thus I have never bothered with 3wire.

I think I never got the old version working correctly with all planes, too. Switched to RCBCO2.0, works perfektly fine !

You could try different aircrafts, see if one works....

Thanks all for your answers.

I had tried already with several aircrafts, from jets to props, including the original CFS2 planes (to make sure that I had a correct Hook), but nothing could work, and I keep getting this annoying error popup about the closest zone that cannot be found, switching my FS in background...

Just like you advised, I will try rcbco stuff. I downloaded it long time ago but never installed it for some reason.

Too bad for 3wire, the catapult effect was very cool... :(
