im curiuos, normally i use unlimited fuel, but when im not, how do i refuel my plane?

how do i tow a glider up to it's flying height?

At most airports there should be a thing that looks like a gas station island with the words "gas", "petrol" "Benzine" around the top. Park under the ceiling and shut down the engine, you should refuel. Or, you can cheat. Hit "alt" on your keyboard, then "aircraft" at the menu bar, then "Fuel & Payload", set the fuel and payload to whatever you want.

As for the second question, the only thing I know is slew. Hit "y" on your keyboard (default), and the the default keys are F4 up, F3 down, (hitting F4 after F3 stops decent, F3 after 4 stops acent) use your keyboard arrows or joystick to move around. hit "y" again to return to normal flight.

yeh, im trying not to use slew mode, i only ask because on the last SimV airshow, there was a picture titled " here is (insert name here) pulling up (perspn's name here)'s glider"

Many glider downloads have a built in winch, just hit the gas and it should explode forward and up

You can't tow a glider in FS9. In that airshow, he started off at altidude by useing Slew.

Ya, at the airshow, I did a simulated tow.  Fozzer took off and flew up to 2500 ft.  Then I pressed CTRL+SHIFT+T which brought up names in the top right of the screen until I found his name, then pressed CTRL+SHIFT+F to follow him, which placed me at a point of release

...yes there are various add on or built in launching methods for gliding......look on some of the glider dedicated sites.....

Best way is to start with the glider on the runway and click into map view. Then you change the numbers. Say they are Altitude 80ft, Airspeed 0 knots, Heading whatever. Change the Altitude to 1080 ft (ie add 1000) and Airspeed to 65 knots. Bingo - it's just like you've had a winch launch.

Apart from visibility - ie you can't see all round the way you can in real life which can make spotting the landing field and runway a bit difficult - I think glider flying is simulated pretty well in FS.

As far as refueling goes i am yet to find a refueling point at any of the major airports or some of the big regional airports as well. That is in australia anyway. i still prefer the old Yellow square as in FS2002 in preference to the refueling island in FS2004. it was easier to spot as well. Also with gliders the only options i know of for launch ing them is as the others say is slew or fly to where you want to start from in a powered aircraft then change to the glider.

For refueling, I've found that if you are at an airport with fuel and hit the comma key, your tanks will get filled even if you're not anywhere near the pump. Might take a few strokes to fill it up all the way...
Check your key assignments in the setup page; the comma (,) was the default assignment in my install of FS9.

also, if your fuel is critically low, and you have tips enabled, you will recieve a message alerting you to critically low fuel levels, and then you can press Ctrl+X to refuel, this can be done in flight, and also on the ground. For the fuel pumps at municipal and regl airports, I have merely taxied up to them and it refills, I never have had to shut off my engines.

so, if i press ctrl+f when im on their name, even if theyre on the ground it will look like they are wiching me when they take off, nice!!


oh, and does it work with AI planes?

Its CTRL SHIFT F, and it only kinda warps you to their location.  I dont believe it works with AI.

This only works with multiplayer to enable new people joining the session to meet up quickly. It won't work with AI because there isn't any in multiplayer!
