Cold Starting

I have been trying to set up so when the flight sim starts I have a cold cockpit. I have shutdown everything at the airport I want and saved the flight. Checked to use as default flight. I checked the Flight sim folder and the saved flight is there but everytime I startup it always reverts to the 172 at seatle.
Any ideas on whats going on or a fix

Thanks
Pk

Hi Rachet...try this.... Start FS9........go to Select a Flight page and select  your flight..THEN tick the box for default and then FLY NOW.............(make sure you click Fly Now after selecting your flight and checking the default box...BEFORE you close down the sim.)

When you next start the sim go to the Create a flight page and you should see the plane and airport etc you choose for your flight ..then click Fly now......it is a bit tricky sometimes I must admit.....commoner ;D

BTW.......You can bypass the Select a flight screen if you want ............

........... Open fs9.cfg, and in the (startup) section change show_opening_screen=1 to show_opening_screen=0. Now, when you start the sim it will load very fast and will load the last saved flight that was set to default.....commoner  ;)

These instructions have not been helpful to me, sorry to say.  I am in the same situation, where I shut down and save the flight, however, when I open the saved flight, it still opens while running.

Once more, what should I be doing when I open the saved flight?

...Make your selections on the Create a flight screen and save the flight giving it a name you want........close the sim.

...Start the sim and click Select a Flight ..on the page click once to select the flight you have just made and check the Make this the Default Flight..........then Fly Now. Don't close the sim until you have actually flown with those settings.

...next time you start the sim.........go to the Create a Flight Screen.....and you will see the details of your flight ..Aircraft etc.........this will always be your default flight.

I have just tested this proceedure 10 times on the trot and every time it worked.............commoner. ;)
