Addon Water Question

Postby CAFedm » Sat Jan 28, 2006 4:49 am

Recently noticed an issue with some installed addon water; namely, Waterzone.  In certain areas the textures are markedly different with a sharp demarcation between them.  This is an occasional problem and I am wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences with Waterzone.  As a last resort I would try out other addons, but reluctantly, as I am quite happy with this one overall.  FS display sliders are set at Land Only & Water-High.  Video card is Nvidia GeForce 5700LE.  Thanks in advance.

There is a reason that the readme says something about this  package is not designed for heavy iron pilots. I had the same problem too, I spend some time low and slow, but I spend more of it at FL350 @ M.85. The only way to fix it is to download new water textures, I've found the morewtr.zip over at avsim.com works well.

Go to settings/scenery - have you got the 'extended terrain textures' box ticked? If not, then tick it. This allows FS to load textures further into the distance, so you don't get this effect.

Worked for me, anyway!

Appreciate your replies, many thanks.  Hadn't noticed anything in the readme regarding high flight, so it seems this is probably not correctable.  Will give the others mentioned a go.

I would suggest my water...meant for all phases of flight...low or slow...and heavy iron pilots...I made those textures because I my self fly low and slow and ultra-long haul flights....
Cheers,
Ashar ;)

Thanks for the kind words Andrew :)

Also make sure that your visibilty is set to 30-50 miles. This gets rid of the problem from 10,000-about 50,000 feet.
