Viewing gauges

Hi, I'm new to the world of flight simulator, only really been playing for the last month.
I decided to add some new aircraft which was no problem. However, some of them don't show any gauges on the panel (Avro Vulcan for example). What am I doing wrong? The readme file doesn't make any reference to it. In the files for the aircraft there are gauges but these don't show up when flying.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Stuart

Is there a folder in the zip file named "gauges"? If so the gauges in this folder must be put in either the gauges folder in FS9, OR they can be put directly into the panel folder for the aircraft......

I tried copying the gauges directly into the panel for the aircraft.
It didn't work.
Do you copy the whole folder or the individual gauges?

Hi Stuart. The way downloads are configured can vary so there's no easy way of explaining it. Usually it's a case of copying the contents of the Gauges folder into FS9\Gauges or the Panel folder of the aircraft. These might be files in CAB or GAU format or folders depending on the type of gauge used on the panel.

Just copy the individual gauges from the folder into the panel folder....dont put the gauges folder into the panel folder

The gauges seem to be bitmaps (.bmp) rather than the other file types mentioned above. Does that make a difference?

That sounds like an XML type gauge. In this case paste the folder or CAB file containing the BMP files direct to FS9\Gauges (or the Panel folder of the aircraft).

Well its still not working. I've tried all of the above and still nothing. I'm either doing it wrong or the plane is broken
Anything else I can try? I might see if I can e-mail the creator of the plane and see what he (or she) thinks
Thanks for everybody's input.

Right. When you extract PDVul427050.zip you should see a folder named GAUGES. Inside this folder is a folder named PD_VUL. The folder itself is the gauge. This is an XML gauge containing all the 3rd party gauges used on the panel. To install it paste the PD_VUL folder into FS9\Gauges. (Alternatively paste the PD_VUL folder into the panel folder of the Vulcan.)
