B-1B Lancer Tips?

I just downloaded the B-1B Lancer package and I dunno if theres something wrong with the plane or if I have no idea what I'm doing. I took it to the Shuttle Landing Facility in FLorida for a test run, and at full flaps I barely get off the ground 100 feet after the runway ends....then it just takes off spinning and going crazy until It crashes seconds later. This seems like a high-tech aircraft, is there something I dont know about this beauty? I take off at full flaps and wings extended.

Well the afterburners helped to get it off the ground, but as soon as I begin to climb the plane pulls fiercly to the left and begins the wild spins, of course crashing thereafter. The rudder is in its correct poistion, Ive finally found a sim aircraft that I can't even get 50 feet off the ground :-) Must have downloaded it wrong?

HMMM???? Can you link it? Does it have a full panel and all? I would download it and test it out, see what it does on my set-up.

Do you have a force feedback controller? They did put a note to the main download stating that force feedback sticks will cause pitch up and un-controllability in FS-2002. Perhaps it does in FS-2004 as well. The 2 sim's software engines are related to each other as evidenced by the fact that many FS-2004 aircraft work in FS-2002 and quite a few 2002 aircraft will work in 2004.

The update is essential. I didn't use it myself because I did my own fix of the FDE.
As a general rule of thumb, if an aircraft doesn't fly properly, if you're not into editing files yourself first thing to do is try swapping the air file for one from a similar size of plane that you are happy with. So with the B1 you might want to try a 747 or a 777 air file (you'll need to rename it to match the one you're replacing). At least then you'll be able to get it off the ground.

ahh.....thanks Saitek. As is the way of all little piggies, porky grew too big for his boots (and the forum setup).
The last time the forum was updated and files were copied over from the old to the new server a few months ago now, porky couldn't be slimmed down to what Pete wanted to be the new limit for transfer over. So he had to go.
He's much missed - but the resulting Scratchings went down a treat with a few pints of the Real Stuff, which helped deaden the pain of his departure ;)
