Jumping Aircraft

I have had a problem with a couple of downloaded aircraft recently, on loading they jump about uncontrollably on the ground even with the engines off.
I suspect this maybe something in the aircraft config?
Any ideas?

Ivor

Hi Ivor...if it does this at all or most locations it is likely that the contact points (aircraft.cfg) for the undercarraige need tweaking.........a simple job but you will need it explaining...........sorry I am just too busy at this moment to explain but there should be either somebody free to help or some other posts on the site from previous guys with this problem.........

...If you get no more help in the next few hours I'll coje back to you later..........commoner  ;)

Hi Ivor.....looks like you are still looking for help then ;D

Well assuming it is the contact points which are the problem then here is the info...If this is not the problem, this bit of knowledge should help you at some time when you want to adjust the height of an A/C......sometimes the wheels appear sunk into the tarmac or floating a few inches above it.

...OK.... as usual copy the offending aircraft's .cfg file to some where safe then you can just overwrite one that you have messed with if neccessary.

Here is the relevant area to tweak.......make the numbers more negative to RAISE the plane, or more positive to LOWER it..........just small adjustment are required and play around until you are satisfied your plane sits ok on the tarmac..........providing you have the original aircraft, cfg safe, you can mess around as you wish....it's quite fun to do and will teach you something at least.

BTW ...Open the file in Notepad if you didn't already know...........Good luck and NOW sit back and wait for all the other replies...........commoner ;D ;D

Many thanks commoner for taking the time for such a comprehensive reply. I will certainly have a tweak at the areas you suggested.
I love tweaking config files!........... ;D

Just so you know, if you are tweaking those areas, try messing with the damping ratio (#10).  That's most likely what's giving you trouble.
