i figure my time with fs, is divided into:
10% browsing addons
10% downloading and installing addons
10% reading threads
30% figuring out why something doesn't work
15% restarting fs to see if it did work
10% communicating to others to find out why it didn't work
10% to find some way to relieve my frustrations about it not working, and being too embarassed to ask dumb questions on the forum.
05% actually flying
so maybe fs addicts are divided into two catagories...those who like to fly and those, anxiety prone, who like to fiddle.....cheers, vic

How right you are Yancovitch!
But that is the wonderful thing about Flightsim, everyone enjoys it in different ways. For some, getting in the cockpit and actually flying is a rarity.
I can spend days designing a new airport with AFCAD and then populating it with objects using RWY12 and AI aircraft. Then do I fly? No, I sit at the airport in slew mode and admire my work. There is something special about sitting at your own airport watching the different aircraft from different airlines come and go to shedules that you set up yourself........sad or what!
Flightsim is such an absorbing hobby...........I wish I had time to fly.......

LOL! Yes, I must admit that part of the fun of FS9 is just trying to find as many addons and tweeks as I can. Flying is just to test them before I look for something else!

I don't spend much time fiddling with addons, unless I think it's worthwhile. I tend to stick to certain aircraft, so I don't download a whole lot

If I see an aircraft that interests me, i'll download it, take it for a spin in the pattern, and if I don't like it or don't see me using it, i'll dump it. Simple as that

There is the occasional aircraft that I download that I really like, but I rebuild the panel because I didn't care for the original.

I haven't (virtually) flown in over two and a half months, thanks to a baffling problem with the navlog that I've spent
weeks trying to fix

I have a dam habit of downloading every add on I really see on the internet. I must clean out my aircraft folder and also my flight simulator download folder as I looked the other day when my hardidsk was flashing the low disk space warning and it turned out that I had 8.9Gb of fs planes. What a wast of hdd space.

I only really fly about 10 of them.

thats true, there's usually only a handfull of planes that i seem to gravitate to....out of 12gb of planes. a bit of a shock i'd say......still, i can't seem to let them go...they're just so neat, and to think of all the work people have put into creating them......
