Best stunt plane?

Postby TNHunter » Sat Oct 22, 2005 10:17 pm

I like to fly the really professional crafts, but sometimes I just want to get in a bird and put on a show.  ::)

What is the best aircraft for fast loops, rolls, etc.? Nothing really fancy as far as instruments go, but a really fast reacting plane.

Thanks,
TNH.

The default Extra 300 is nice ;)
If you go to http://www.simviation.com/fshelp.htm and down on the right under FS2004 you'll find my aerobatics tutorial 8)

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

A Pitts is always a safe bet too. Pureflight Simulations do a nice pair for FS2004...

Always been a fan of Sukhoi's myself (SU-29, SU31)

I need rudder pedals (or something to actually control the rudder properly) before I can do proper aerobatics. There's a limit to what you can do with just ailerons and elevators.

What about a stick with twist handle?

The Extra is probably the most high-performance one listed so far (although that Eagle can be a handful!), but they're all good.
Then there's the Bucker... a little more sluggish, but it can be tossed around quite a bit...

Let's not forget the CAP and Edges that fly around these days.
Raw power...the J-58.

GET THE CHRISTINE EAGLE II!!  It's the ONLY plane I use for aerobatics on FS9.  Everything else drives me up a wall. lol
The day is always better when you're flying upside down.

Maybe because im a fuge fan but, I prefer the Pitts S-2S
particulary "bulldog" http://www.simviation.com/fs2002props15.htm
nice thick smoke and crisp handling(in my opinion)

Well, if you dont want high performance, the Let Blanik L-13 glider can do some insane aerobatics

I guess I'm just a wee bit different from the others here - for aerobatics I personally love the Bellanca Super Decathalon.
The Super-D doesn't have the unstable quickness of the dedicated aerobatics aircraft; but it's comfortable to fly, crisp on the controls and if you know what you're doing puts on one helluva show.

Looks great too. ;D
