No hold parking brakes.

I am at the terminal, in any plane, engines running , idle speed, PARKING  BRAKES ON>  Back from taking a snack, my plane has creepingly moved forward, -- sometimes right into the building.  Of course, this will not happen if my engines are OFF. I'd like to be able to fix that. I use a joystick ( MS sidewinder Precision 2).
Any help ap[reciated

Bob you need to open the aircraft.cfg in notepad and look for the break settings and then increase the number to improve the brakes. I'm not at home right now to post an exact solution but it should be pretty clear ;)

this is sometimes caused by an ill-calibrated throttle axis, causing the engine to not sit totally at idle... ::)

but since Sidewinder joysticks have that auto calibration thing, then i can't be sure that would be the case :P

I have a USB joystick and a USB gamepad (for playing the play-off match ups in Madden 2k6) and i have to physically disconnect the gamepad because it interferes with the throttle settings of the joystick....kinda hard to land at 40-50% throttle :(

Two things to try here-

First, hit F1 to make sure your engines are truly idled.

If they are, it is a known problem that some FS planes will continue to creep forward even with the engines idled and the parking brake on.  As Ozzy said, increasing the brake value in the aircraft.cfg should help.

In this case it will be what Ozzy said. Planes you will especially notice this in are Kirk's F-16 and the P-3 Orion.

It could be due to the joystick but not with a sidewinder. On my Saitek X45, if I put full throttle before starting the sim and then it loads up, it will regard it as idle untill I move the throttle however slightly.  :)
