Extending the electricals

'Lo!

Just a quick question:

I'd like to extend the life of the batteries in my airliners - or add an APU, but it seems like extending battery life would be easier. The reason is in FSPassengers one has to wait as the passengers board; and within 5 minutes the batteries go dead. I'd just like to extend battery life long enough to make the boarding process realistic. Can anyone tell me how to do that?

Edit: I'm familiar with 'Electric always Available' in the CFG but that's not what I want - it isn't very realistic. :)
Merci!

Hi
drop the min voltage for the buss need to start the aircraft to
10 volts in the aircraft.cfg electical section,as fs9 only drops battery to 16.9 volts as dead flat anything set lower than this will stay active

Can't you just crank up the engines a bit quicker?

If you have, or plan to buy, the registerd version of FSUIPC there's an option in it that allows you to extend the batteries life indefinitely.

Hello everyone. :)

Ashaman: Unfortunately I don't have the registered version. Question though - when you say "allows you to extend the batteries life indefinitely" is that the same as having unlimited batteries? (IOW, the same as the 'Electrical always on ' line.) All things being equal; it's far better than the bats running dead, thanks for the suggestion. :)

Woodlouse: Yup; that's what I have to do right now. The problem is that aircraft engines aren't started until after pushback; which is what I want to replicate. :)

AuMav: Thanks for the suggestion - I'll check it out. :)

Cheers!

This, my kind sir, I don't really know. I'm not that deep into the mechanics that keep our planes alive. I know what I know, and only for that little I can vouch. ;)

'electrical_always_available=1' is your only option unless you want to instal a new gauge or two.

I must disagree about engine starting however, they are usualy started just before pushback. If there was a fault with an engine the tug would have to reconnect and pull it back to the gate. This could cause an unacceptable delay in a busy airport while other AC are held up behind.
