Flickering Water

Not so much of a problem, more of an annoyance.
All the virtual water flickers between to textures.
(See attached image for reference)

It doesn't bother me that much when flying over small bodies of water, like lakes and rivers.
But when flying over things like the Pacific and Lake Superior... Lordy!

Now the million dollar question is, can this be fixed!?

It's supposed to do that. It is switching textures to make an appearance of continous waves. Make sure water effects are on high and not water detail. It might fix this.

Tried all sorts of settings, nothing works.
But can't say I paid much attention to the water up until recently.

I guess I'll just tough it out.

Score, problem solved!
Turns out I had a textures from about three different water replacement packs gumming up the works.
As to how I managed to do that, we shall never know.

I don't even fly with water detail turned on.  With water detail turned on it gives the too blue appearence of the carribean all the time.  That's not realistic up here where I live or even over the great lakes or the waters of the chesapeake or the Jersey coast.  Up here in the north the water colors are usually more a steely grey color than that blinding blue in the Gulf or Carribean.  I know because I've sailed those waters.
