Panel graphics

Postby don_7747 » Fri Jan 06, 2006 9:54 pm

I just got  FS2004. I can't read most of the numbers on the  instrument panels on all my planes unless I undock the panel.
Do I need a new graphics card?
FS 2002 works fine.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

I'm not sure I understand what the problem is. Can you post a screenshot?

What resolution is your screen set to?

I use 1024 X 768 and have my color quality set to Higest (32 bit)

Check you settings and see if they are close to that. If not change them and you should see a big difference.

I can't post a screen shot, I'm not very computer savy.
It's like all the numbers are in a blur until I undock the panel.
I'll try your idea, papa.
Thank you.

Well, I changed the resolution, but it didn't change anything.
It's weird how it looks fine when undocked but unreadable in normal mode.
I'll see what the Best Buy computer guy says.
Thanks, again.

Is this with the default planes as well or just addon aircraft? If the later, then screen resolution is your problem.

From the main toolbar at the top of FS9, goto, Options/Display/Harware and then you'll see a list of resolutions on the left. Select 1024x768x32 and click OK.

Hi somonmd.
It is with the default airplanes. I haven't worked up the nerve to try adding any yet.
Yes, I tried that resolution change and it didn't do anything.
Everything else seems to work okay.Maybe a little sluggish, not as smooth as FS 2002 is.
Oh, I can't make out much on the GPS either unless I undock that too.
I hope a new graphics or video card will do the trick.
I'll post here when I have a solution.
Thanks for the help.
