SRTM

Postby Hussein Patwa » Sat Dec 31, 2005 6:38 pm

Umm right, so what in Merlin's name is it?

I've seen it all over the libraries, there's even a 14 part SRTM for Euope, there's SRTM for most territories.  Clearly people have spent time on it, people download it, people install it, but what on earth is it?

'scratches head'

Do you eat it?  No.  Do you drink it?  No.  I mean, surely it must serve some purpose apart from just being a pretty little abbreviation for, umm, well something.

Answers on a postcard please.

Cheers.

A very warm welcome to the V (havent seen you around yet) and a great newyear to you! :) ;)

Imagine for example a city is built on hills. But in the sim there are no hills. Mesh adds hills.  ;)
Yeah it basically details the terrain elevation of the fs landscape. If you zoom in on the map of fs, the difference in detail is astounding, it adds tremendously ot the simming experience.
Cheers

Alpha :)

Hello and thanks for the info.  I'll pop along to the section you mentioned and take a look.  Thanks also for the directions - I know it may not seem like much but they really help, being partially sighted and all.  It really saves time having to look around through everything :D

Cheers.
