add-on aircraft as static scenery objects

Is it possible to use add-on aircraft (or certain parts of the files) as static scenery objects? I'm not too concerned about impacting the frame rate, I'd just like to see some different aircraft parked on the ramp as I go by at taxi speed!
(sorry if this has been answered before, I did a search and didn't come up with anything.)

thanks, Mike Sousa/riderfj1200

It's certainly possible as there's a freeware addon that places two low res Concorde models at Heathrow. They where installed as building files. You could try seaching for them on here or Avsim and emailing the author as to how he made them.

I suggest you look into adding AI Traffic. There's a separate part of this forum dealing with that. Depending on what you're inerested in there's ready-made aircraft & flightplans at PAI. http://www.projectai.com/
It might take a little figuring out which fies you need & how to install them. The experts in the AI Traffic forum can help out there if necessary.

Create AI flight plans at ungodly hours and when you fly at normal hours, you will only see them on the ground :D

Thanks for the responses! (man, that was quick!)
Yes, I had considered the AI option, but what I really had in mind (and i admittedly don't know if it's even remotely possible) would be using just the necessary parts of an "aircraft" (model?, textures?. ???) so that it could be used with a program like Runway 12 as a static addon scenery object.  Are the files even similar?
I'd like to see a bunch of unusual aircraft parked around the ramp, like the static display area at an airshow. (maybe drive around and check them out in that VW I downloaded!). I realize typical add on aircraft are much more complex 3D objects than most scenery objects and would therefore affect frame rate, etc., but since I'm only "taxiing" I think it would be acceptable.

btw.. as a new member, I think you guys have a great site here, I'm looking foreward to getting to know everyone as time goes by... thanks for the help!
