Any you guys been flying the Socata 700? This is a fine freeware model and my congratulations go to the team who put her together. She has come in for a bit of criticisms from some areas mainly concerned with problems with the pilots line of sight when landing etc. Nothing which worries me too much. My main question is specific to the starter switch. I like to start all my birds from cold. I just can't get it to activate. The ignition switch is OK. Any help would be much appreciated as ever.  Crocker

Bind some keys to the starter functions, many panels are rushed and don't have basic things like working starter switches.  

I bound ctrl+shift+1 to engine one starter and ctrl+shift2, 3 and 4 to their respective starters.

Works fine for me.

..mmm... a nice piece of work that...but a tad complicated in my opinion....Did you really study the starting procedure in the manual? It's really complicated and has to be done correctly to get the thing started. Dare I suggest that the problem is not with the starter switch but with the way you are trying to get it started?......commoner.

Commoner........ yep I agree she is complicated.........thanks for the reminder to check the pilots manual again. And you were right. Everything asper the book except for switching on BP pump switch......... which I was not doing. Oh well that will teach me not to be over confident on my start up procedures. A recipe for disaster. I think this aeroplane has a lot of potential. It's hard work flying her but adds to the challenge. I don't score very well with FS Passengers and passenger satisfaction I have to say!!    Thanks again. Crocker

I haven't spent a lot of time twiddling the tits & knobs in the TBM700A but did throw some paint & logos at it:



I already found out it can't be 'flown' onto the runway so next I try setting 'er down I'll try and 'land' it instead.

....the Starter works perfectly...if you follow the proceedure....as crocker found out......

Now that I've clocked up a few hours I'm just beginning to get to grips with her dynamics. The big thing I've learned is to use very very small inputs to the throttle  as most of the power sits at the top end and prepare very early for your landing. Don't be in too much of a hurry to get her down as long as you get there with everything in tact. These are expensive aeroplanes......... your passengers will feel a lot healthier too!

..mm....I found at first I stalled on 50% of my approaches..........love the baby now........commoner.

The landing panel is handy too I find........nice to see where you are at.......

As much as I dislike the actual aircraft in real life this is a top class model, really is Superb detail, a nice touch is how when the engines are off there are no pilots in the cockpit. A rare, subtle yet effective idea.

I have numerous aircrafts from PAD, and all are great. I have not found one problem with any of them. It is really nice to find something that everything works right out of the box.

Hummm, I'm wondering what there new "Jet" is going to be. Coming soon the first part of the year. Can't wait.
