FS2004 Crashing when changing payload

Postby Hussein Patwa » Mon Dec 19, 2005 1:00 pm

I've noticed that around the time jepessen did their stuff with their server that made it go down, my fs9 crashes whenever i change the payload of an aircraft.  I've had it happen with several aircraft, and have tried re-installing the sim to no avail.  Can change fuel though, but what use is that when I want to fly London-Singapore and need all the fuel there is, but have to reduce payload to keep the aircraft within limits?

Any suggestions?  I'd rather not mess with the aircraft's config files every time I want to fly them if at all possible.

Hussein.

Are these aircraft third party aircraft or default aircraft.
I have a B737-200 that in order to change the payload I had to edit the aircraft cfg file. Something you should not have to do but I have seen the same thing with other third party aircraft. What you might try is to delete your fs9cfg file this should remove the real world weather option if you think the two are somehow related. 8)

The problem happens with two third party aircraft, both from different publishers, but oh well. Maybe it's just a quirk of the game.

Just waiting for the weather to get back up and running.

i have had the same problem with a couple of third party 737s. try to edit loading configuration in the game and you crash to desk top. so i tried the CFG file for the aircraft and started the sim and it crashed to desk top. Luckily i made a back up of the cfg. changed it to the original and it then worked fine... but i just couldnt make any configuration changes to weight or fuel load. Never managed to solve the problem. i didnt think to associate it with the real world weather oprion... i cant recall if i was using that option at the time. so im having the same trouble

Thanks for that.  I can live without 100% realism for a few flights.  For now I'm off the ground with my 737-800 half fuelled taking it to Amsterdam from my home airport at Aberdeen (EGPD).  But hey, at least I'm going somewhere!  Oh and I decided to try out the preset weather.  I'll see how the heavy snow looks when I come in for landing - it'll be light then.

This problem happens in FS9 when a plane has a aircraft.cfg that defines more than 10 payload station.

My PM2 Concorde gave me pains in the same way, until I took up upon myself to edit the payload stations to keep them under the number of 10. Now it works perfectly.

Thank you, that's grand!  the 737-800 has 50 stations listed in the cfg file.  I can alter that no problem.

Cheers.
