unlocking external aircraft views

Postby Poniax » Wed Dec 14, 2005 2:19 am

I tried a search but came up empty handed.  Is there a way to unlock the external views so that pressing 8 on the number pad doesnt take you to the front of the plane and 2 for the back?  Id like to be able to move freely around the airplane using the number keys like in flight sim 2000.

Good question; I don't know the answer but as a tip I can tell you that the hat switch on the top of some joystick should automatically be mapped to that function (progressive panning); at least I didn't have to configure anything with my Logitech Wingman.

There must be something in the key assignments. The 'hat' switch is just a switch after all, so change the pan assignment to whatever you wish.

I can't remember what the key assignments are called, but it's definitely possible. I think they go along the lines of "Pan View Left/Right/Up/Down". Check under the veiws tab. It's what I use to move the camera around.

Go for the F1view freeware program. It allows panning using your mouse!
