Parking brake adjustment..

Postby f-16 » Mon Dec 12, 2005 9:38 pm

Is there anyway in the .CFG or .AIR to adjust the strength of the parking brake? The 757 I have creeps at 0.1 Kts with the parking brake on. :o

i dont think you can have the parking brakes set any higher... all i can find about parking brakes in the aircraft.cfg is this line:

parking_brake=1

that basically says "parking brakes are available", doesn't specify it's strenght

...hmm, when you say the plane creeps i figure you mean at idle throttle then, if that's the case it might be more engine-related than brake-related ::)

i can't really be sure... it would help if you told us what particular 757 model you have there ;)

I'm sure it's engine related. I have several AC's that do this but they stop if you shut the engines down.

The plane is a IFDG 757.

The static thrust is set to 40100.000. (too high?)

I have another similar question about Aired. What is the 1501 Engine fs2000 turbine entry for? Does this field affect FS2004 aircraft? (since it says FS2000)??

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

i know that a lot of POSKY aircraft have this thing for idling at .1 knots. so you sit there with your aircraft at idle, come back 5 minutes later with the nose half in the terminal...

...put a brick under the wheel...?
(Although the aircraft may go round and round in ever decreasing circles...until...).....
LOL...!

...I do find that turbo-props have an annoying habit of creeping forward with the parking brake on....I doesn't occur with piston props... ;)...!
...which is one of the reasons why I avoid turbo-props if possible... ;D...!
