a/c preview window black

Postby thebrelon » Thu Dec 08, 2005 11:55 am

hi all,

don't know if it's the right place to post this, but...let's see. if not: sorry.

so, after I installed the latest driver (forceware 79.31) for my video card (Goforce 6800 256mb), I can't anymore see any aircraft in the preview window. it was the same with the last driver (77.something) but work well with the driver which came with the card (dated early 2004).
the only idea I have is to uninstall FS9 and reinstall it with the latest driver previously installed... does anybody already had something like that?
also, I don't see any great differences, I would like to know if anybody already installed it and have your feed-back.

thanks!

Either your AS or AA is set too high.

I run a 6800 Ultra and when I crank up the AS to a locked setting such as 4x or 8x, the aircraft preview window goes blank.  But when I put it on 'Application Controlled' it comes back.

Thebrelon,
I have heard that those drivers are not necessarily made for the 6800s.  I use the 6800 Ultra and the latest dirvers  caused minor issues.  Go back to your previous ones is my advice. :)

Good luck,
Ben.

thanks for your help! :)

as you said midnight, I selected application controlled and it came back.
I also followed svenpurple7's advice and come back to the original drivers as there was no obvious improvement.

the only thing I gain in the story is that now, I messed my system up, it's slower and the graphisms are not as good as they were... :'( :'( :'(
so, don't play with drivers unless you really know what you do... :-[

again, thank you!
