Layering in the Scenery Library

Is there a rule of thumb for adding landclass or mesh to the list in the library? I get the impression that in principle it should be placed immediately above the last fs9 default entry / below the first addon entry. Is that right? If so, does it apply to both a generic landclass and a landclass tied to a specific scenery?

Hi Phiz. I don't have much experience with landclass scenery but that seems logical & what I've always done with mesh in all versions of FS/CFS.

As a general rule I leave conventional addon scenery like new airports & updates to existing ones at the top of the list when first activating them. Each new area will be added to the top of the list & can usually be safely left there unless you have display problems of course. One exception is when some prolific scenery designers use a 'master area' including all the textures for their later areas in one install. In this case the master area needs to be lower down the Scenery Library listing than the others or those textures might not display. If in doubt & there's no specific instructions in the Readme it's a matter of trial & error.

Hey guys I am having a few issues with altitude difference between some of my add on scenery and the base elevations in FS9. Sometimes the land textures drop far below where they are supposed to be (once 6000 feet below the actual elevation of Colorado.)I am not sure who to address this issue if you could give me any pointers it would be greatly appreciated. The current problem I am having is with the 18 carrier pack, some of the carriers are sitting on a buldge in the water up to 20 feet in hieght and when I try to land I pass right through the carrier deck and end up in the hangar deck. It is so wierd.
