Odd phenomenon...

After switching from certain aircraft, I noticed that the electrical and avionic systems are permanently on, and the master and avionics switches are useless

I noticed this occurs after flying Bill Lyons aircraft.

Anybody know why this occurs, and if it's possible to fix it?

Andrew,

Does it still do it if you quit FS and then go back in? Or only if you switch aircraft without exiting? I've noticed that if I load a plane with a very intensive panel, then I have to quit the game and re-start if I want to use a 'simpler' one as some of the settings are retained, otherwise.

This phenomenon goes back at least to FS98, maybe earlier, I don't know.  At any rate, what always works for me when it happens is to select the default C172 and then go back to the aircraft I want. A lot less fuss than restarting FS.

Worth a try. Hope it works for you as it does for me.

I often find that swopping downloaded planes during flight causes the program to crash, necessitating a re-start...
...but, as previously stated, if I temporally switch to a default Cessna 172 first, then select my downloaded plane after, it sometimes cures the problem...!
FS9 doesn't seem to like swopping certain planes while the program is running... :'(...!

Cheers...!

I don't know what aircraft you are using but it's always a good idea to switch to a default aircraft before changing to another add on. Especially important if you are flying some of the modern payware add ons. Those aircraft are pushing the limits of what FS2004 can do and beyond. A lot of functions are being handled outside the sim and are modifying settings inside FS9. You need to go to a default aircraft or settings and other crap in memory may remain and screw with the sim.
