SID/STAR in GPS?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering whether it is possible to have a SID/STAR in the default GPS of FS2004. Normally i get a SID/STAR from a vatsim site and later enter each SID/STAR in the GPS as the flight progresses. But i would like to see the whole SID/STAR course from the start of departure to the end, like that is shown in the GPS when a high/low altitude IFR flight is selected between two airports.


P.S - I remember seeing a similar post with the solution few days ago but could'nt find later.

I use FSNAV it has the sids/stars for all of the airports. Of course you may have to have a registered version for this option, I am not sure. But as for getting them to display in the default gps, not sure if you can do that without making some kind of change to the fs9cfg. file and even then I am not sure in FS wil recgonize the entry needed to do it.

Could you please forward me to the download link of FSNAV, i tried searching but got weird results and don't know which is the right one.

I'm pretty sure that one can export the SID/STAR to the default GPS from FsNavigator as i have read a post regarding this.
May be the ones who posted in that thread may know  ???

One can enter a SID (DP) or STAR into the FS9 GPS while creating the flightplan by dragging the red line to the requisite wayoints (obtained from charts/IAPs).

On longer flights, FS9 ATC will vector the aircraft using these DP fixes. On shorter flights, FS9 ATC ignores these DP fixes and directs the aircraft into position for the assigned (instrument or viz.) approach (which ATC know already -- whether or not the crew has been informed).

Using FS9 ATC precludes flying any STARs which may have been entered in this manner as FS9 ATC, "does its own thing," when it comes to assigning IFR landing prodedures.

None of the above applies to ATC controlled VFR flight nor to VATsim. As already noted, none of this data is in the FS9 GPS database which can be accessed by the crew and other addon software may be better suited .

The best way to check this stuff out is to try it. I have.
